Maddox Newborn

Ten tiny fingers and ten tiny toes. Is there anything better than a sweet new baby?! The more newborns I work with the more I fall in love with Newborn Photography!! Every baby is different and I have learned to let them lead the way! Baby Maddox was my biggest baby yet! He didn’t fit in one of my baskets so thankfully I was prepared with multiple setups. I couldn’t get over how alert he was! He wasn’t going to miss a thing!

My blessing

I am sure you have heard me rave about her before…and I will continue because she is really just amazing. You can tell a lot about her personality just by watching her on social media but you are missing out if you haven’t met her in person!! Her life is an open book and I value her honesty and realness. It is nice to see you are not alone when it comes to certain struggles…namely Motherhood!

Welcome to the world baby Bailey! Your parents and big sister are so glad you are here! You were my tiniest baby yet! Since you were still pretty fresh you hadn’t quite got the hang of being bossy yet and I was successful in getting you asleep and you staying asleep! One thing is for sure you really didn’t like to be naked and boy as soon as the smallest piece of skin was exposed you let us know!! You, my dear, have your daddy wrapped around your little finger. You also have your mama’s heart! And, you are the luckiest girl to have a helpful big sister and I am pretty sure you will never have to walk when she is around ha ha! I love it!

I couldn’t tell you when it took hold of my life. I know when I conquered it. It is still a nagging feeling but instead of leaning on human life to pull me out, I lean heavily on God. His presence His relationship His love.

My word for 2017

For the past couple of years I have instead of making New Years Resolutions I have chosen a word for my upcoming year. The year 2015 was SOAR and boy did this little business of mine live up to that! The year 2016 was BOLD and although I am still a work in progress I have seen drastic changes in my life and have lived bolder and better!

Combs Maternity

The forecast called for rain but when I woke up it was nothing but fog…and I was secretly so excited!! Fog may look dreary and unappealing to some but it is so beautiful and soft. It made the perfect pairing for my couple. They were beautiful together, I couldn’t get over how they nailed every shot. It was like working with a couple of models! Dustin was so gentle and soft with Jessica, it was precious to watch. Jessica has this delicate beauty and she is just stunning!

Beloved

Sometimes they are quiet. Some are the life of the party. No matter their personality, they bring out the best in us, our better half. When documenting a love story I am always waiting for that look. The look that all men in love with their wives have. The look that reads, I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you, for an anxious groom. Or, I can’t wait to see you as the mother of my children, from an excited daddy to be. Then there is the look from the long time married couples, just pure adoration, even after the hard years there is joy. Oh, to be loved.

Combs Newborn

I believe this big boy wanted to show me who was boss…and he won!! I have never worked so hard in my life ha ha!! All he wanted to do was check everybody and everything out and the last thing on his mind was SLEEP. But that’s ok, I loved looking into his little face and him watching what was going on around him!! The more I work with newborns the more I see who runs the show! 🙂

Brooks Couples Session

We had a chilly morning but these two managed to stay warm with snuggles!! Seeing these two love on each other just warmed my heart! The care he took to make sure his wife was comfortable was endearing and I was just loving the way he looked at her!! It was also her birthday weekend so of course we had to celebrate with cupcakes and sprinkles!! She is fabulously forty!!

Michaela Senior

Beautiful on the inside and the outside, she is so much fun to be around!! I love how she is super smiley and full of sunshine…I have the BEST seniors! Like any Senior she is proud and excited!!! I have enjoyed getting to know Michaela!

We got started at the Kitty Hawk Pier on the Outer Banks, right before sunset. The Kitty Hawk pier is an old wooden pier and the green pilings are such a pretty color! The day started out rainy but around sunset the sun did make an appearance! Rain or shine…shooting by the ocean beats any day in the office!!

 

I am in love with her dress!! She chose some killer outfits for her session!

Had to snag some mama pictures of course!! And sweet little Gigi!

 

When we hopped over to the sound side…the sunset blew us away!! So beautifully golden! This spot was the hit spot on the outer banks for a sunset it was so crowded! Everyone was so sweet and complimenting Michaela, she is gorgeous!

I am so glad Michaela was down for anything…she let me put flowers in her hair!! I loooove flowers…so does Michaela!! She also nailed every shot, it was near impossible to narrow them down to favorites for this blog post!
